CSUN's brand new Valley Performing Arts Center presents Dr. Cornel West as key speaker to kick-off Black History Month. We were honored to have been chosen to perform for the opening ceremony in this event. The huge stage was overwhelming, but was a wonderful experience for our group.

This is one of our favorite events to perform for. We enjoy cheering on our school's hockey team. It's cold, but the energy from our excitement towards the game helps warm us up. ;)

Are you a taiko newb and want to progress?

Those of you interested in joining Jishin Taiko can start by mastering our warm ups! :D So practice at home, while you're walking, while at a stop sign, waiting for a long line at a restaurant or restroom, etc. Looking silly is just a risk you're going to have to take. Just don't hurt yourself in the process or you'll be no good to us. :P Ganbatte!~

Practices will now be three days! Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Same time: 7pm-10pm. Try to make it to as many as possible! :)

We hope everyone had a great summer! A new semester is finally here. Time to get down to Taiko business. :D All who are interested in joining this year are welcome to our 2nd annual orientation day! It will be held in our Taiko practice room (Cypress Hall, room 145) on Friday, September 3 starting at 7pm. There will be refreshments and an introduction on who we are and what we do. Afterwards, we will have a small performance for you all, including a short tutorial you may participate in on our specific way of playing. Don't miss your chance to mingle with our members and others interested in becoming a member! We all hope to see YOU there. :)

Welcome back everyone, to a new semester and to our new prospective members! And to welcome everyone back and to have people who are interested in joining Jishin Taiko, we are having an Orientation Day on Thursday, September 10th. Come by to our practice room and mingle with our members! We will have refreshments and talk a little about who we are and what we do. After that, we will have a small show for everyone! We'll even teach you how to play a little on our drums if you're interested :)

Festivities will start 7:00pm at Cypress Hall -145

From July, it is going to be Monday/Thursday practices!!
Time is same and it is 7:00-10:00pm.
