On Friday, December 9th, we were invited to perform at CSUN's International Exchange Program's End of the Semester Event. We've been performing at this event for nearly 7 years, and we've really enjoyed every time we have! Thanks for the long-time support! We really enjoyed the energy that was there!

-------------------------------- Hello everyone!
Jishin will be performing at the Stone Soup Music Faire 2011 in Grover Beach!! It'll take place next weekend (Saturday, August 27th to Sunday, August 28th!) Please come and give us your support and join us for a fun time at the festival!
On August 14th 2011, Jishin Taiko performed at Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles.
The pieces performed were Korekara, Matsuri, and Suzume.
After the performance, people from the audience were given a chance to hit the drums. Members of Jishin Taiko aided the volunteers through basic rhythms and kuchi shōga exercises.
We enjoyed performing for you guys! Thank you for having us!
Taiko practice for the summer is the same as our schedule before; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7-10pm in the taiko room. Summer practice is not mandatory, but we highly recommend it to those interested in joining in the fall or planning to become performing members! Also, due to a couple of important shows coming up in August, Wednesday practices may prioritize performing members once again. Just as practice during school session, do not see this as a discouragement to attend this day. This is an opportunity, especially for those aspiring to become performing members, to practice learning the songs we perform by watching, listening, and shadowing on the sideline. Keep in mind, it is not often so many of the performing members are in attendance on any other practice day during the summer. All we ask is for your attention and serious attitude/interest towards taiko. But other than that, we wish you all a great summer and hope to see you at practice! :)
Woo! We are so excited for the Intercollegiate Taiko Invitational. :D The host this year is UCLA's Yukai and Kyodo. Come out on Saturday and Sunday night to watch all the participating taiko groups perform, including us! :D 17th Annual Intercollegiate Taiko Concert info.
Edit: Tiring weekend of walking and workshops, but had a blast mingling with all the other taiko groups and workshop leaders there! Our performance, although only one song (Yamabiko), was successful and received praise from those who barely knew who we are as a collegiate taiko group. :) Thanks to Philip, Blaine, Arisa, and Ai for performing as members/alumni members of Jishin Taiko! <3 Congrats to all the groups that performed; both concerts were great. Can't wait to see you all again at next years Invitational hosted by Stanford! (more photos coming soon...)
Edit: ~Thank you for those who came out and supported us! Our annual spring concert is done for our family, friends, and fans. ;) None of our effort is worth it without you in mind.
CSUN's brand new Valley Performing Arts Center presents Dr. Cornel West as key speaker to kick-off Black History Month. We were honored to have been chosen to perform for the opening ceremony in this event. The huge stage was overwhelming, but was a wonderful experience for our group.
This is one of our favorite events to perform for. We enjoy cheering on our school's hockey team. It's cold, but the energy from our excitement towards the game helps warm us up. ;)
